Sovereignty Shall Have Its Place

Sometimes it’s not necessary
to know and understand
everything that happens to us
from mysteries touching man
____
for God’s ways are so much higher
we ought to leave them there
clouded in the cloak of mystery
and glad we’re in His care
____
puny man and his feeble mind
could never comprehend
one part of God’s understanding
from beginning to end
____
and logic can’t reveal the way
if God intends to seal
plain knowledge is His gift to man
the things He does reveal
____
if man knows everything to know
a god he would become
and where would trust and faith begin
dependence there’d be none
____
for man needs to rely on God
in every way of life
totally trusting in our Lord
His ways will give us light
____
then sovereignty shall have it’s place
as man shall bow to serve
a God Who loves a lowly heart
and seeks to know His word
